Mav Asya is a singer/songwriter based in the Bay Area, writing upbeat indie rock about real life beatdowns. The name comes from amavasya — Sanskrit for new moon — when its gravity pulls you even when you can't see it. That sensation runs through the music: honest, playful, sometimes uncomfortable, never performative.

Mav's writing is informed by offbeat bands from the past like Oingo Boingo and Jellyfish. He values depth, honesty, and playfulness in his writing, aiming to write songs that people want to listen to.

Mav has deep experience with rich vocals, and has toured the world with previous vocal bands, sharing the stage with greats like Tower of Power, Kool and the Gang, and Joan Rivers. His current focus is in recording and playing solo shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
